Part of the great part about the internet is the ability to share information. This is really helpful for genealogy. Being able to share info and ideas about your ancestry is great, and the internet makes it even easier. But in order to share people need to be able to find you. Finding itowler.com just got a little eaiser. itowler.com is now listed in the Genealogy Blog Finder.
Joseph Towler in the American Revolution

I am not sure that I have ever mentioned it, but I descend from several individuals that fought in the American Revolution. I actually share a surname with one: Joseph Towler (click on the name to view my genealogy data). Using some online Genealogy resources, I discovered that Joseph Towler Fought with the 7th Virginia Regiment. I have even found a few images of Muster Rolls from the unit (see the image on the right, click to enlarge). I find these records really fascinating, as they provide more insight into the lives of the people that are included.
Adding Historical Facts to you PGV Timelines

As most of you know the Familytree.itowler.com runs PGV (PhpGedView). I have been using the program for a few years now, and have seen it grow and become better and more refined. One of the newer (although I must admit, I am not sure how new) features is the ability to add historical dates to the time line.

Today Ancestry.com Marks Lincoln Bicentennial With Launch of Five New Databases Featuring Millions of New Civil War Era Records. They go on to say that the new databases include more than 4 million new records. The five new databases include:

I know that I am behind on my posting, but I am trying to keep up. It's actually a lot hard than you might think. This post will be a little "light" but oh well. There have been a couple of interesting things that are going on with the family tree, so I figure that I would fill you in.
