Goals
It's a New Year: 2012 Goals
Ian Tue, 01/03/2012 - 12:13
Every year I have set some goals and then through out the year post about my progress. This year will be no different. I hope to accomplish a few more of them this year. I did not have a lot of luck in accomplishing last years goals.
I use goals and not resolutions because a goal is something you work toward. A resolution, one mistake, and the resolution is "blown" but a goal is the finish line, you just need to get there. Does not matter how fast.
So on to the goals:
2011 Year End Review
Ian Sat, 12/31/2011 - 01:00
OK, its the end of 2011 (Hummmm... that was fast.). At the start of the year I set a number of goals, lets see how I did on meeting those goals.... Red means I did not meet the goal and Green means I did meet the goal.
2011 Q3 review of Goals
Ian Sat, 10/01/2011 - 23:11
OK, its the end of the Q3 of the year (Hummmm... that was fast.). At the start of the year I set a number of goals, lets see how I am doing on meeting those goals.... Red means still have work to do, Green means I am on track to meeting the goal.
Lose weight
I have been really bad about this one, and I keep making excuses. Truth is that I am not even sure where I am on this one right now. I have not stepped on a scale in several months. I have not been doing well about watching and documenting what I am eating... I have not made it to the gym yet...
2011 Mid year review of Goals
Ian Fri, 07/29/2011 - 19:45

OK, its the end of the First Half of the year (the year is flying by...).
I have not stepped on a scale in a month or so. I have not been doing well about watching and documenting what I am eating... I have not made it to the gym yet...
Stop Drinking Coke / SODA
I am actually making some real progress here. Since the release of Mellow Yellow Zero, I have actually been drinking less soda. That being said, I still have lots of work to do... No coke in the house, but I still hit the vending machines at work every now and then.
Add 50 posts to Itowler.com
OK, so this is not exactly mid year, so, 50 posts / 12 months = 4.16 posts a month, we have covered 7 months so I should have 29 - 30 posts. I have 24 so A bit behind on this goal. June and May both only had 2 posts each, and April only had 1 post. Those 3 months have brought the average down.
Mellow Yellow Zero has hit the shelves
Ian Mon, 06/13/2011 - 12:03
Ok, So this will be a quick post. For those who know me, I have been a Mellow Yellow addict for nearly 15 years. If you have never had Mellow Yellow before, it is a coke product, and has a taste that is similar to Mountain Dew (which is a Pepsi Product). In the 1990's it was pretty easy to find, but then Coke decided to launch a new Citrus Flavored product called Vault, which was awful (and I am not the only one who thought so). Coke seemed to have put their marketing might behind Vault and Mellow Yellow disappeared from the scene except in a few markets (For me it seemed like Kentucky was about the only place you could find it).
Recently in the last few years Mellow Yellow has seen much wider distribution. This was great, as I really like Mellow Yellow, but at 170 calories per can (12oz) it does not help with trying to loose weight. When Coke started launching their "Zero" products, I was hoping that they would launch a Mellow Yellow Zero. Coke had made Zero versions of Coke, Cherry Coke, Fanta Orange, so I thought that it would have been a natural fit to launch a Mellow Yellow Zero, but that did not seem to be in the cards. In an effort to help loose some weight I tried each of the above mentioned products, and none of them ever seemed to be a good replacement. I was sad that they were not launching a "Zero" version of Mellow Yellow, but that has come to an end. I was shopping in the grocery store the other day and found 2 cases of Mellow Yellow Zero sitting on the shelf, needless to say I grabbed both.
First Quarter 2011 Review
Ian Sat, 04/02/2011 - 01:00
OK, its the end of the First Quarter of the year (how did that happen??). At the start of the year I set a number of goals, lets see how I am doing on meeting those goals.... Red means still have work to do, Green means I am on track to meeting the goal.
Goals for 2011
Ian Sat, 01/01/2011 - 01:55
Like every year I am going to post my goals for 2011. These are not resolutions, but rather goals. What's the difference you may ask? Well if it's a resolution, it is easier to fail or quit on. For example, if the resolution is to stop drinking coke, if you have a coke, then you failed, and may think about giving up on the resolution entirely. If it is a goal, having that coke is a "slip" and you can get back to the plan the next day. So., like 2009 and 2010... I am working on Goals for 2011 and not resolutions.
Mid Year Review
Ian Mon, 06/29/2009 - 04:00
Its near the end of June now and I figured that I would check in on my 2009 Goals and see how things are going so far.
- Lose weight
This is a carry-over from last year. I need to get down to 165-170. I should get there, but again...who knows. This one is starting to get important though, the longer I keep the weight on, the harder it is going to be to get rid of it.
2009 Goals

On the way home from my parents house, I was talking with my wife, and we figured it was going to be a pretty big year for us, so my goals are going to be more modest in scope this year. We plan on having a lot going on so...
2008 Wrap Up
Ian Wed, 12/31/2008 - 03:00

Wow, 2008 flew by. The year has passed, and I did not even notice. Lots going on this year, but its time to take a look at the goals I set for 2008 and see how well I did. Without really looking very hard, I can already tell you that I did not do that great of a job on my goals list, so many of them will be carried over to 2009. I will list the 2008 goals in blue below, and then a description of what I accomplished below that.
